Repositioning

There was an article on ArchDaily today about the current state of Architecture as a profession and where it is going. It follows a newsletter that the AIA sent out last week announcing a new initiative entitled Repositioning Architects and the AIA, and neither of these two articles are the first time I’ve heard of evaluation of the AIA. So what is going to come of all this? Most practicing architects complain about unfair contractual agreements, recent architecture graduates seem clueless in their first jobs, and current architecture students move on to other industries to satisfy their creativity. Without a doubt, something needs to be done or the profession of architecture will be a fairy-tale I tell to my grandchildren.

“Once upon a time there were people who designed the things we live and work in. Now they are extinct and engineers do it all. Isn’t this box-shaped house really efficient? The End”
